Nearly 1 in 2 Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer

A recent report by the Canadian Cancer Society warns that, in coming years, 1 in 2 Canadians can be expected to be diagnosed with cancer. As a specialist working on the front lines, these statistics are not surprising. Over the 18 years of my career, practicing in both the United States and Canada, I have witnessed an increase in the incidence and rate of chronic disease with patient management becoming more complex as their extent and severity of chronic illness continues to increase.

These illnesses include hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, vascular disease, autoimmune diseases, dementia as well as cancer, which was the subject of the recent report. The sad fact is that, despite advances in medical knowledge and technology, we have not been able to halt the progression of chronic disease, including cancer, which is why these statistics are not surprising.

As I have witnessed these sobering and disturbing trends over the course of my medical career, I started to ask difficult questions. Why is chronic disease on the rise and why do patients not heal? Certainly our poor lifestyles and exposure to environmental toxins has a lot to do with this but I somehow felt that there is a lot more to this picture. This motivated me to do my own personal research into ancient healing traditions, the psychology of healing, consciousness and metaphysics.

What I discovered is that our healthcare system and conventional medicine largely fail patients because they only focus on one aspect of who we are which is the physical. The fact is that we are more than just flesh, bones and organs and exist at deeper levels of being including mental, emotional, vibrational and spiritual. All these aspects of our being need to be addressed in order for true healing to occur. The product of my inquiry is the forthcoming book, ‘Healing From The Inside Out: Overcome Chronic Disease And Radically Change Your Life.’

In this book, I describe a 9 step process to healing by integrating all levels of our being at the highest level. I make the distinction in my book that healing does not equate to cure since cure is a static endpoint at the level of the physical body.  Healing, on the other hand, is a dynamic process which is essentially the process of becoming whole by integrating all the levels of our being and is ever evolving. I believe that this dynamic process is the key to reversing the dangerous trends we are seeing globally in the progression of chronic disease including cancer.

My book will be published and available this September, 2017 and, I believe, will provide deeper insight into halting and reversing the cancer trends that have been predicted and is sure to generate the much needed discussion about how to reform our failing healthcare system.
